ST ALBANS CENTURIONS broke off from their winter hiatus to thrash South London Storm 66-4 at Harpenden on Sunday. In a friendly played to prepare for the Powergen Rugby League Challenge Cup on 29 November, Centurions got off to a flier with four tries in the first ten minutes against their National League Three rivals. However, South London dug in until half-time,
keeping the score to 20-0 before the Cents ran riot after the break.
ST ALBANS CENTURIONS centre Dene Miller has the opportunity of a lifetime next Tuesday when he lines up against some of the greatest players rugby league has ever seen. Miller, from Welwyn Garden City, has been invited to join a London XIII that will play the Australian Legends in a tour match at Blackheath RFC on November 11 at 3pm, part of the Aussies trip around the UK accompanying the Kangaroos on their Ashes series.
ST Albans Centurions face a daunting trip to Bradford in the first round of the Powergen Rugby League Challenge Cup - but thankfully they will not be playing holders Bradford Bulls! Instead, the Woollams-based Cents will make their Challenge Cup debuts against Birkenshaw from the Pennine League Premier Division, on November 29, having received a bye in the Preliminary Round.

In their first season at National League level, and just eight years after the club was founded, St Albans finished fourth in the league, going out in the second round of the play-offs away at eventual winners Warrington Woolston Rovers.

DESPITE losing to Warrington Woolston Rovers in the play-offs last week, St Albans Centurions' players have been honoured in the new issue of Rugby League World magazine, out now. Skipper Tom Eisenhuth has been rewarded for his string of outstanding displays in August by being voted National League Three Player of the Month, an honour he totally deserves and that before his magnificent effort in the defeat by Woolston.

ST Albans Centurions came agonisingly close to posting their first win in their National League 3 debut with a comeback of the season contender only to lose to a last minute try. The Centurions trailed 16-0 after 47 minutes and looked set for a hammering against a Teesside team who had lost just once in the last two seasons.
