ROUND 14 started off with an upset as cellar dwellers Newcastle travelled to Parramatta and upset the home team in a one point thriller. The result lifts Newcastle to 12th while Parramatta have been leapfrogged by Canterbury.
IN a round of blow out score lines it all started with a tight tussle at Parramatta stadium. The match was full of twists and turns. St George-Illawara led early on only to trail 16-12 at halftime. In the second half the scores became tied at 22 all but a Leuluai try and then a Witt field goal in the 78th minute sealed the win for Parramatta. The victory for the Eels sees them move up into third place ahead of their opponents, the Dragons.
ROUND 15 kicks off at Energy Australia stadium. Newcastle managed to produce the upset of Round 14 which will give them plenty of confidence when they return home to face the Cougars. St Marys-Penrith find themselves in trouble of falling back to the pack after last weeks loss so a spirited performance will be needed to keep their season on track.
ROUND 16 kicks off with a titanic clash. Both these teams come into this match on the back of a win and both sides sit within two points of each other in the top four. With very few rounds remaining this match will prove vital as both teams jockey for position. With so much to play for this is shaping up to easily be the match of the round.
