Analysis - South Sydney put in a strong performance against the competition leaders Melbourne in Perth last week going down narrowly 14-6. The Rabbitohs are not hindered by Origin selection this year and will be close to full strength with George Burgess returning to the front row from suspension, replacing Zane Musgrove. Cody Walker has again been named at fullback, with John Sutton starting at five-eighth as per last week.

Analysis - The Eels were shut out late against the Raiders last week, with a late try to Raiders winger Jordan Rapana resulting in back to back losses heading into the representative period. Parramatta are also unaffected by Origin but lose former NSW centre Michael Jennings, who is replaced by Brad Takairangi. In form lock Nathan Brown has been named at lock but is in doubt after leaving the field with what looked to be a serious rib injury which put the enforcer in hospital after last week's loss.

Analysis - The Warriors host the Broncos back in the familiar surroundings of Mt Smart Stadium, where traditionally they start to find their form around the representative period. Lock Simon Mannering returns in a huge boost for the home side, while Ben Matulino will start in the front row as per last week, replacing Queensland prop Jacob Lillyman. Albert Vete comes onto the interchange bench, while strike weapons Solomone Kata and Manu Vatuvei have again missed selection with rookie Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Ken Maumalo again named on the flanks.

Analysis - The Broncos head into the Origin period in second place on the NRL ladder after a terrific start to 2017. Brisbane have again contributed heavily to the Queensland side, with 6 players selected. Jordan Kahu moves to fullback to replace Darius Boyd, which sees Jonus Pearson come onto the wing for Corey Oates and David Mead coming back into the starting side on the right wing. Ben Hunt returns from injury at slots straight back into halfback, with off season recruit Benji Marshall named at five-eighth. Despite his excellent form replacing Hunt at halfback over the last five weeks, Kodi Nikorima has been relegated to the bench. Jaydn Su'a will start in place of Matt Gillett, with Korbin Sims moving to lock for Josh McGuire. Alex Glenn will start for Sam Thaiday, with George Fai and Jai Arrow joining the interchange rotation. Travis Waddell replaces Andrew McCullough at hooker, who misses the trip to Auckland after being heavily concussed last week against the Tigers. Centre James Roberts is in some doubt with a toe injury suffered at training during the week but has been named and will be vital in the new look backline for the visitors.

Analysis - The Sharks made it three wins on the trot and now sit third on the NRL ladder as they host the Bulldogs on Saturday night at Shark Park. The home side are missing key players in James Maloney, Jack Bird, Wade Graham and Andrew Fifita who have all deservedly been selected for New South Wales. Matt Prior returns from suspension at prop for Andrew Fifita and Kurt Capewell replaces Wade Graham in the backrow. Utility Gerard Beale moves to centre, with Edrick Lee coming onto the wing.

Analysis - Canterbury turned it on in the second half against the Roosters and despite a few rough calls go against them late in the game, the Dogs succumbed to back to back losses for the first time this season. Canterbury have three players selected for New South Wales in Josh Jackson, David Klemmer and Brett Morris. Morris is replaced on the wing by Marcelo Montoya, while Greg Eastwood and Danny Fualalo have been promoted to the backrow for Jackson and Klemmer respectively. Asipeli Fine and Francis Tualau join the bench.

Analysis - Canberra snapped a three game losing streak, leaving it late to overcome Parramatta 22-16 at ANZ Stadium in Round 11. The Raiders now return home to GIO Stadium where they host the Roosters in a game they will be desperate to win, with the Green Machine sitting just inside the Top 8. The Raiders just have just Josh Papalii selected for Origin and this sees Joseph Tapine move to the second row, with Iosia Soliola named at lock. Luke Bateman comes onto the bench after missing last week's game through injury.

Analysis - The Roosters managed to get home against their bitter rivals the Bulldogs last Sunday after nearly blowing a 20-6 halftime lead. The Roosters will be missing five Origin stars for their trip to Canberra in Blues stars Boyd Cordner, Mitchell Pearce and Blake Ferguson, as well as Maroons forwards Dylan Napa and Aidan Guerra. Connor Watson gets a start alongside Luke Keary in the halves, with Kane Evans, Ryan Matterson and Zane Tetevano to start in the forwards. The versatile Mitch Aubusson will start at centre and Isaac Liu, Lindsay Collins, Chris Smith and former Raider Mitchell Cornish form a new look interchange for the Tricolours.
