Knights sign Connor Watson

The nib Newcastle Knights are pleased to announce Connor Watson has signed a three-year contract with the Club, commencing in 2018.

Watson made his NRL debut at the Sydney Roosters in 2016 and has played 30 NRL games.

This year, the 21-year-old was named the Auckland Nines' Player of the Tournament and also represented Country in the City Country Origin match.

"Connor is an exciting young talent who has plenty of great football ahead of him," CEO Matt Gidley said.

"There is no doubt Connor will grow with our team and be a great addition to the Club."

Watson joins Kalyn Ponga, Tautau Moga and Aidan Guerra at the Club in 2018, as well as Shaun Kenny-Dowall, who made his Club debut last weekend.

"It has been pleasing to announce a number of signings for next season, as we continue to build our squad with a mix of local juniors, emerging talent and experience," Gidley concluded.

The Club would like to acknowledge the Sydney Roosters for releasing Watson from his contract.
