2006 City v Country venue
announced

The annual NSWRL City v Country clash heads back across the Great Divide in 2006 with the western NSW city of Dubbo selected to host the May 12 match.

It will be the first time in four years City v Country has been played west of the ?mountains?.

Lismore and the NSW Central Coast hosted the last three clashes, with Wagga the venue for 2002 and Bathurst hosting the 2001 clash.

Country Rugby League General Manager, Mr Terry Quinn, was pleased to see the game return to a regional area.

?The people in the bush love their football and they deserve to see quality Rugby League,? he said.

?There?s always plenty of passion when the country boys take on the Sydney players and we expect the people of Dubbo will get right behind the clash.?

The match is open to all eligible NRL players not selected for the Australia v New Zealand Test.
