Broncos too good for Titans in local derby

The Titans were unable to comeback in the second half and went down to the Broncos 26-16 at Cbus Super Stadium in front of crowd of 15,432 fans.

The Titans looked good early on in attack and put the Broncos under a lot of pressure. They were gaining plenty of metres in attack but the Broncos were able to hold them out for numerous sets of six.

The Broncos went over the line for 4 points at their first real opportunity in the Titans half. All that great work from the Titans in attack had come undone from their defence.

The next try for the Broncos was a controversial one with the video ref awarding a try after what looked to be Sam Thaiday losing the ball from a loose carry. The referee ruled a try when sending it upstairs and it seems the video ref was unable to find conclusive evidence that the ball wasn't stripped by a Titans player.

The Broncos took advantage of every opportunity and went into the half time break leading 18-6.

The Titans missed numerous opportunities in the second half through plenty of errors. Every time they were in good field position, they turned over the ball.

Nikorima went off late in the second half with blood coming from his mouth after a head knock from his Broncos teammate.

In the end the Broncos were just too good for the Titans.

The Titans now have a tough away game against Parramatta at Pirtek Stadium, while the Broncos host the Roosters in another Friday night football game.

Welcome to the second Good Friday game. Tonight the Gold Coast Titans host the Brisbane Broncos at Cbus Super Stadium. There are a few changes for both teams tonight. The Titans have sent Dave Taylor to the bench who has been replaced by Eddy Pettybourne. Lachlan Burr comes onto the bench for Matt Srama. Sam Thaiday will be coming off the bench for the Broncos with Jarrod Wallace coming into the starting side. Lachlan Maranta replaces an injured Jordon Kahu and Daniel Vidot comes onto the wing.
