RESULTS: VB NSW Cup 2015 Round 12

North Sydney Bears 26 (D Chang, B Gregorius, D Nicholls, K Sione, I Simone tries; Nicholls 3 goals) bt Wests Tigers 22 (N Milone, J Sila, B Santi, J Drinkwater tries; J Drinkwater 3 goals)

SUMMARY: North Sydney overcame a 22-0 deficit to record an outstanding 26-22 come-back victory. Trailing by two points with four minutes remaining, the Bears declined a penalty in front of the posts to score the match-winning try. Cody Walker was sensational in the second half setting up two tries and making multiple linebreaks.

Canterbury Bulldogs 35 (T Phillips 3, D Chisholm, D Fualalo, S Lane tries; L Dodd 4, H Ese'ese goals; Chishold field goal) bt Mounties 20 (R Kennedy, J Ahearn, G Aiga, M Cronin tries; M Cornish 2 goals)

SUMMARY: The Canterbury Bulldogs upset the VB NSW Cup front-running Mounties at Belmore Oval. The Bulldogs were in complete control of the entire 80 minutes. Tyrone Phillips scored a hatrick for the Bulldogs, whilst halfback Dane Chisholm was at his creative best scoring a try, setting up two and kicking a field goal.

Penrith Panthers 31 (E Aiono 4, T Eisenhuth tries; W Smith 5 goals; T Sopoaga field goal) bt Manly Sea Eagles 24 (B Fritz 2, D Berryman, T Satini, M Chee-Kam tries; K Aldridge, M Rudolph goals)

SUMMARY: Penrith came from the dead to steal a 31-24 win over Manly in near darkness at Brookvale Oval. Trailing 16-4 at half time, Manly dominated the second half to lead 24-22 with three minutes remaining before Will Smith levelled the scores 24-24. In the next set, Tupou Sopoaga, kicked an amazing 30m field goal from out wide to put the Panthers in front before Eddie Aiono's try from the kick-off sealed victory.

NZ Warriors 28 (R Faitala-Mariner 2, K Maumalo, P Ulberg, S Cook, V Kaveinga tries; M Lino 2 goals)bt Newcastle Knights 22 (H Tuha, C Mata'utia, J Finn, J Feeney tries; K Holland 3 goals)

SUMMARY: The Warriors piled on 24 second-half points to beat Newcastle 28-22 and sit two points from the top of the table. After falling behind 4-16 at halftime they surged to a 20-16 lead with three tries in the opening 10 minutes of the second half and soon added a fourth for a 24-16 advantage. The Knights drew back to 22-24 with a Jaelen Feeney try and had a shot at victory but the home side went six points clear with a try from dummy half by centre Viliami Kaveinga before holding on for a win to leap to third spot on the ladder.
