Leeds Rhinos and North Queensland Cowboys will pay tribute to their former coach Graham Murray when the two sides meet in the World Club Challenge on 21st February the Man of the Match from the game being awarded the Graham Murray medal.
Murray, who coached the Rhinos between 1998 and 1999, leading the side to victory in the Challenge Cup Final, went onto coach last year's NRL Champions North Queensland Cowboys for six years and is fondly remembered by both clubs.
Murray sadly passed away 2013, aged 58, and both clubs have come together to remember him at this historic occasion, which will take place at Headingley Carnegie.
Speaking about the decision to name the Man of the Match award after Murray, Leeds Rhinos Chief Executive Gary Hetherington said: "This is a fitting tribute to Graham Murray who was such a popular coach at both clubs. His wife Amanda will be over from Brisbane for the game to present the medal to the Man of the Match which will be judged by the assembled press."
