MATCH REVIEW: Two to contest, four others cop one week bans

23 March 11:30am Taupau and Lawrence have both entered the early guilty plea to their charges arising from Monday night's spiteful Brookvale clash and will miss Saturday's game against the Roosters.

As reported earlier, tonight will see Sione Mata'utia and Paul Carter contest their charges at the judiciary, with the former seeking dismissal of the charge, and the latter seeking a downgrade.

22 March 12:00pm: Manly's Martin Taupau and Brenton Lawrence both face a week out of NRL action after foul play in Monday night's win over Cronulla.

Taupau's careless high tackle on Jack Bird in the first half was issued with a Grade 2 charge. He'll miss a week whether he takes the early plea or challenges unsuccessfully at the judiciary. Lawrence was hit with a dangerous contact charge on Cronulla's Michael Ennis for an incident ten minutes prior to the Taupau-Bird drama. With carry-over points added, Lawrence will also miss a week regardless of plea unless he is successful at challenging the charge at the judiciary.

So far from the original charges issued on Monday, Parramatta's Kieran Foran (one match) and Penrith's Jeremy Latimore (one match) and Sam McKendry (no matches) have all entered early guilty pleas.

1:00pm: Rabbitohs' utility back Kirisome Auva'a has taken the early plea for his dangerous contact charge (no matches), while Paul Carter will seek a downgrade of his Grade 2 dangerous contact charge at the judiciary at Wednesday. Auva'a is free to play on Friday against Canterbury, and Carter will be as well should he be successful on Wednesday evening.

Pleas for Newcastle's Sione Mata'utia and Wests Tigers' Chris Lawrence are yet to be entered.

1:30pm: The Wests Tigers have confirmed Lawrence's early guilty plea. He'll miss their clash with the Eels on Monday. Newcastle meanwhile have confirmed they will join the Rabbitohs at Rugby League Central on Wednesday night to contest Mata'utia's Grade 1 dangerous throw charge.

21 March, 5:00pm AEDT: Low-grade charges dominated this week's NRL Match Review charge sheet, with four players facing a week out and a further three likely to escape suspension.

Sione Mata'utia (dangerous throw, Knights), Jeremy Latimore (dangerous contact, Panthers), Chris Lawrence (dangerous throw, Wests Tigers) and Paul Carter (dangerous contact Grade 2, Rabbitohs) are all likely to miss Round 4 should they accept the early guilty plea for their respective charges.

Meanwhile, Kieran Foran (contrary conduct - contact with match official, Eels), Sam McKendry (careless high tackle, Panthers) and Kirisome Auva'a (dangerous contact, Rabbitohs) will escape suspension should they take the early plea.
