5 April, 12:00pm AEST: Canterbury's Tony Williams has been added to the charge list after a tripping incident in his side's 22-8 loss to Canberra last night. Williams will escape suspension with an early plea for the foot put out under Blake Austin's legs.
Tim Simona meanwhile will contest his dangerous contact charge at the judiciary on Wednesday night. We understand Solomone Kata will take the early plea and be free to play Manly on Saturday.
4 April, 3:00pm AEST: Two NRL players have been charged from the seven matches completed so far in Round 5.
Tim Simona (Wests Tigers) has been hit with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact (head/neck) charge on Cronulla's Jack Bird and is set to miss two matches, while Warriors centre Solomone Kata will not miss any game time if he enters an early guilty plea for a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw in his side's win over the Roosters yesterday.
Both players' charges will have one match added if challenged unsuccessfully at the Judiciary. Each club has until 12pm Tuesday to enter a plea.
