The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have claimed their third victory in a brilliant 34-18 win against the Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday night.
In Manly's victory we saw Martin Taupau kick off the scoring, with the opening points coming off an a error off the Warriors. Josh Starling scored his first ever NRL try in the contest, while we also saw hard hitting Steve Matai score a double after not having crossed the stripe all season.
Tom Trbojevic scored in the dying minutes to make the score 34-18. Jamie Lyon was perfect with the ball all night, converting all five Manly tries and adding two penalty goals.
On the other side we saw the Warriors take their 3rd loss of the season with Solomone Kata, Blake Ayshford and Issac Luke all crossing, while Shaun Johnson was also flawless with the boot in converting all three tries for the home side.
The Sea Eagles led from start to finish, racing out to a 12-0 lead early and only conceding the one try before the break to lead 12-6 at halftime. Manly kicked on after the break to lead 20-6 before both sides went 'tit for tat' over the last twenty minutes, eventually finishing with a 16 point win for the visitors.
Manly will be taking the 2 points back to Sydney where they'll host Parramatta on Thursday night in that classic 80's grudge match, while the Warriors are headed south to Wellington for an 'away' match against Canterbury in the same timeslot next Saturday.
