MATCH REVIEW: Six charged from Round 7

UPDATED: McKendry set to challenge as all five other charged players from Round 7 accept early guilty plea.

Penrith forward Sam McKendry has pleaded not guilty and will challenge his Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge at the judiciary tonight. If unsuccessful he faces one match on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, the remaining five players charged have accepted early guilty pleas, meaning Isaac Liu and Pauli Pauli will sit out their clubs' respective Round 8 matches.

Isaac Liu (Roosters) and Sam McKendry (Panthers) had their names added to the Round 7 rap sheet overnight - Liu for a crusher tackle (Grade 2 Dangerous Contact Head/Neck) which will see him miss a week with the early plea, or two weeks if he unsuccessfully contests the charge. McKendry meanwhile has been hit with a Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge for touching referee Jared Maxwell. He'll miss one game whether he enters and early plea or contests and loses at the judiciary.

PREVIOUS - 1pm Mon 18 Apr 2016: Newcastle's Pauli Pauli faces suspension as one of four players charged after seven games of the NRL's seventh round.

Pauli was issued a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge for a hit on Brisbane's Joe Ofahengaue in the Knights' 53-0 loss to the Broncos on Saturday, and will miss one week whether he takes the early guilty plea or unsuccessfully contests the charge at the judiciary.

Three other players will miss no matches with early pleas - South Sydney's Hymel Hunt (Grade 1 Careless High Tackle), Canterbury's Tim Browne (Grade 1 Tripping) and Melbourne forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona (Grade 1 Tripping).

The Roosters now face a nervous wait after Isaac Liu was placed on report for a crusher tackle in his side's 20-16 loss to Penrith on Monday night.
