Young Broncos Bounce Back To Bury Bunnies

The NRMA Insurance Broncos under 20s have bounced back to record a resounding victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs 38-0.

Tristan Hope opened the scoring in the second half after sustained attacking pressure from the Broncos saw him able to beat two defenders from dummy half and dive over for their fourth try of the game.

The home side led in the 53rd minute 22-0 after Haydyn O'Hara slotted his third goal converting the Hope try.

A mistake on the Broncos line from the Rabbitohs in the 65th minute gave Fauid an opportunity in space before he was brought down only metres from the visitors' line.

On the next play, a back peddling Souths defence was unable to hold the Broncos out with Lachlan Lanskey diving over to register his first try of the game pushing the lead out to 26-0.

The Broncos showed their hunger in attack putting away the game with seven minutes to go when O'Hara grubbered for a flying Josh Rudolph making it a 34 point lead.

The Rabbitohs defence was exposed out wide in the final stages of the game as Fauid demonstrated his pace once again to sprint 40 metres and put down the ball for his second try.

It was a strong performance from the Broncos NYC side as they ran away with the game, winning 38-0 after two narrow losses at home.

The game started with a flurry of big runs and strong defence which saw neither team score and Elijah Alick come from the field in the opening minutes of the game.

Alick looked to suffer a leg injury and wasn't sighted for the remainder of the game.

Jai Whitbread broke the deadlock after 19 minutes when he made a great run through the centre of the defence and crashed over under the sticks helping Brisbane to a six point lead.

From their next set of six, Fauid scored after a fantastic piece of play from Corey Allan saw him streak down the sideline adding to his tally for 2016.

Halfback Will Brimson extended the lead to 16-0 in the 27th minute as the Broncos forwards continued to rumble up the pitch and put their team in great field position.

The first half ended with the Broncos maintaining their lead of 16-0 with some great defence on their line against a strong Rabbitohs surge.
