Media reports on Tuesday morning have indicated the Parramatta Eels salary cap saga will draw to it's end today with the NRL to deduct points, fine the club and stand down up to five officials.
Fairfax's Chris Barrett indicated the penalty would see the Eels stripped of all 12 points accumulated so far in the 2016 competition, effectively starting them from zero points in Round 10. The punishment is also said to include a fine of $1 million as well as the NRL demanding the club stand down up to five officials.
The NRL has called an 11:30am press conference to publicly address the punishments.
