Sharks confirm Opal Solar as new naming rights partner

Our Club has received a major boost just days out from the start of the 2017 season with Opal Solar becoming the Clubs' Naming Rights Partner.

The new agreement, which is for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, will see the Opal Solar branding appear on the front of the NRL and Under 20s jerseys, commencing with the season-opening clash with the Broncos on Thursday night.

Named after an Australian precious gem and introduced in 2014, Opal Solar has since become one of the leading solar panels sold in Australia.

A company which believes that all Australians should have the opportunity to access the affordable and clean energy abundant in our country, the exciting new partnership with the current NRL Premiers presents Opal Solar with an outstanding platform to promote the extensive benefits of solar energy.

Sharks CEO Lyall Gorman was excited to be welcoming Opal Solar into the Sharks family as our Naming Rights Partner.

"Opal Solar has a clear vision to become the number 1 supplier of solar panels in Australia and to continue to broaden their business and brand. Their hunger and aspiration to reach the very pinnacle of their industry is strongly aligned to our own Club's focus on becoming the Club of Choice in the NRL," Gorman said.

"In addition, their major focus on making our environment a better and healthier one is strongly aligned with our own Club's focus and commitment to being a catalyst for true social impact and change across our community.

"We look forward, with a great sense of anticipation, to sharing the journey ahead with this exciting brand and to making a true contribution and difference for all," Gorman added.

Similarly, Opal Solar were thrilled to be entering into the new arrangement with our Club and were looking forward to what promised to be a mutually beneficial partnership.

"Opal Solar is pleased to announce this sponsorship agreement with the reigning premiers, we are delighted with the long-term strategy of the club and believe Opal Solar will forge a great partnership," Opal Solar Director Rami Fedda said.

"The renewable sector is one of the fastest growing industries in Australia, with over 1.7 Million rooftops now generating electricity from the largest source of energy, the sun," Andrew Burgess from Opal Solar added. "Our vision is for Opal Solar to be at the forefront of this and to allow every Australian to have access to clean, renewable electricity."

Sharks Head Coach Shane Flanagan, Club Captain Paul Gallen and State of Origin representative Wade Graham joined CEO Gorman and representatives from Opal Solar at Sharks Leagues Club today in announcing the new partnership.
