1.

Last week: 2nd

Emphatic. The only word to describe their dominance of the premiers at Kogarah on Sunday. There's still a few months to go but this mob looks like a genuine title favourite.

2.

Last week: 4th

Bounced back perfectly from the horror loss to the Storm with a solid win over a hot-and-cold Wests Tigers.

3.

Last week: 1st

Refereeing controversy notwithstanding, Melbourne were thoroughly outplayed by the Dragons, matched in almost every area and looked like a shell of the side that beat the Warriors just eleven days prior.

4.

Last week: 3rd

Scoreline probably flattered Penrith in the end - the Cowboys dominated the first half and Penrith's second half comeback wasn't enough to quell the JT show.

5.

Last week: 9th

A solid victory over Newcastle and are starting to look like they might just be a genuine top eight side.

6.

Last week: 10th

Held on after a late Manly surge - despite the narrow margin they're looking like they're starting to click. Still plenty of defensive issues to work out.

7.

Last week: 5th

Proved their worth by downing the 'Dogs in a game they could well have lost. Won't be happy to have been trailing Canterbury for so long but if they can win more of those 'banana peel' type games, Wayne will be happy.

8.

Last week: 8th

Three straight wins and the Sharkies have edged their way into the NRL top eight. The Eels' late surge would be of huge concern but two points is two points.

9.

Last week: 6th

Three straight isn't good news when they're losses. The wheels are slowly coming off the bus - Ivan needs roadside assistance, pronto.

10.

Last week: 7th

Struggling without Mitchell Pearce it would seem, and Souths took full advantage. With developing players in a few key positions, the better sides will look to exploit them.

11.

Last week: 11th

Never looked like they'd be beaten by a lacklustre Titans outfit. Cronulla will be made of much sterner stuff this Sunday though...

12.

Last week: 15th

Have now joined the ranks of those inconsistent sides - must be a rollercoaster in Townsville! A solid victory against Penrith but you get the feeling other teams may have been more relentless with their comeback.

13.

Last week: 14th

Showed a fair bit of improvement against Brisbane on Thursday but ultimately they're still not a great footy team. Badly need a win over the Eels this week.

14.

Last week: 12th

Crashed to their seventh loss after winning two straight - and while they'll be buoyed by the late points it's something they've already done too often this year, leaving their run too late. Need early points if they're to beat the Bulldogs on Friday.

15.

Last week: 13th

Fairly awful performance once again. Opposition sides know Cartwright lacks confidence at five-eighth and are exploiting that, leaving Ash Taylor to shoulder the burden. Mitch Rein at hooker in Nathan Peats' absence is a small bright spot for a badly out-of-form side.

16.

Last week: 16th

Competed well with a much better side in the Roosters but still suffered the heartbreak of yet another loss. Rumours through the week about Barrett's future could not have been helpful, not to mention their injury woes.
