A special Weight & Age division of the NSWRL All Schools tournament will be trialled for the first time as Australia's biggest junior Rugby League event of the year kicks off today.
More than 4000 children across 200 teams will descend on the game's heartland of western Sydney this week for the 67th NSWRL All Schools Carnival.
The NSWRL All Schools Carnival brings together the school junior league community from across the state for three days of competition starting today, Monday 1 August to Wednesday 3 August.
Teams have travelled from far and wide around the state, accompanied by more than 200 volunteers, referees, first aid officers and ground managers.
The event's enormous scale will see the NSWRL make use of five separate western Sydney playing fields, with St Mary's eight-field Whalan Reserve the main hub of activity.
