Farrell had not played since the opening weekend of Tetley's Rugby Super League VIII, but kicked four goals and the crucial drop goal to see off the Wolves at The JJB Stadium. Shaun Briscoe scored two tries for the Warriors, with Adrian Lam also crossing, while a 12-point haul for Lee Briers, with a try, three goals and two drop goals, added to scores for Sid Domic and Brent Grose, was just not enough for the visitors. Warrington cashed in on brilliant kicking from skipper Briers to deservedly lead 12-6 at half-time. In a see-sawing game played at a frenetic pace, Briers darted over for Warringtons third try and the conversion made it 18-18. Two Briers' drop goals edged Warrington in front before Farrell levelled it with a penalty and then hit the crucial one-pointer to grab the win the match seconds from time.
