The side Ricky Stuart has chosen to end QLD's attempt at six years of outright State of Origin dominance simply isn't good enough to compete with the Maroons dynasty of superstars.

That's what I think every time I consider the line up. So why do I, as a New South Welshman, have that spark of passion that comes with the feeling that your team is going to go out there and win the seemingly unwinnable?

Come Wednesday night, I shouldn't be full of expectation. I should be bemoaning another year of confounding team selections, weak forwards, uninspiring play-makers and impotent outside backs. Just like the last half-decade.
