St George Illawarra Dragons winger/fullback Amos Roberts has reportedly agreed to terms with the Brisbane Broncos for 2004.
Roberts holds the record for the most points scored by a first grader on debut when in May 2000, he kicked nine goals and scored a try (a personal tally of 22 points) for the Dragons against the Warriors.
Often described as a brilliant prospect, Roberts' career has been dogged by injuries. He is currently sidelined following a recurring shoulder problem.
In other news, Saints are still yet to officially sign winger Nathan Blacklock. It's understood however that Blacklock's signature is a done deal and he will be in the red and white in 2004.
Meanwhile, Dragons' forward, Luke Bailey is in serious doubt for the 2003 Kangaroo Tour following revelations that he has a chronic ear problem that will require surgery.
The NSW front rower will consult a specialist next week to determine a course of action. It's understood that he will see the season out with St George.
With their semi-final hopes in tatters, the Dragons find themselves on 24 points and have simple equation to deal with; win and win again.
With three rounds remaining and four points out of the top eight, Saints have the opportunity to defeat the Storm at WIN Stadium, the Knights at Kogarah Jubilee, and then the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium who are all currently sitting on 28 points.
