Sydney Roosters lock Ashley Harrison is expected to be fit for Sunday's crucial clash with the Gold Coast despite missing training today with an ankle injury.

Roosters coach Brad Fittler says Harrison rolled his ankle during the week but remains a 90 per cent chance at playing the Titans on Sunday at Carrara Stadium.

Halfback Mitchell Pearce meanwhile is likely to come off the bench for the Roosters with Setaimata Sa expected to start in the halves alongside in-form five-eighth Braith Anasta.

Brisbane centre Justin Hodges is in doubt for tomorrow night's crunch match with the Bulldogs. The Test centre has been battling a virus and was too ill to train today, forcing coach Wayne Bennett to place utility Joel Moon on standby.

Bennett says he is unsure if Hodges, who only returned from a hamstring injury layoff last weekend, will be fit to take the field tomorrow night. Brisbane have also lost lock Greg Eastwood to a knee injury, with Queensland forward Sam Thaiday to coming off the bench into the starting pack as cover.

Manly fear they will be forced out of their beloved Brookvale Oval in the future if the dilapidated stadium is not redeveloped.

Manly chief executive Grant Mayer says the club will meet with NSW premier Morris Iemma next week to push their case for at least $15 million to fund an upgrade for the football ground.

If the Sea Eagles cannot access any grants from the State or Federal governments, Mayer fears the club will not be able to run a business and could look to move more games to Gosford's Bluetongue Stadium.

Mayer says Brookvale Oval needs about $15 million for repairs to the current grandstand and construction of a new grandstand on the eastern hill to offer more corporate areas and undercover seating.
