Wests Tigers have taken the precautionary step of booking star five-eighth Benji Marshall in for surgery on Thursday morning after scans revealed a fracture in his injured right shoulder.

A final decision on whether the Kiwi playmaker has an operation will be made tomorrow by club doctors, though scans have revealed no ligament damage. Marshall damaged his shoulder in the opening minutes of Saturday night's NRL win over Melbourne but club officials are confident it is nowhere near as serous as the injury to the same shoulder which ruined his 2006 campaign.

Utility Liam Fulton has been named in the number six jumper for Sunday's clash against St George Illawarra at Telstra Stadium.

On the judiciary front, all three players charged by the match review committee have taken an early guilty plea with Wests Tigers backrower Danny Galea the hardest hit. Galea will miss three matches following a dangerous throw on Melbourne's Ben Cross on Saturday night, the former Penrith utility not willing to risk a five-match ban by fighting the charge.

New Zealand Warriors pair Tony Martin and Michael Witt will both miss one match for a dangerous throw on Cronulla winger Misi Talaupapa.

Martin was staring down the barrel of a two game ban but had his suspension reduced after being granted a seven year incident free discount.

Down in the Shire, Cronulla halfback Brett Kimmorley is confident of taking part in Friday night's clash against Brisbane after successfully completing training today. The session was Kimmorley's first since being knocked unconscious in the City-Country clash last Thursday, the Sharks skipper forced to miss Cronulla's win over the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday.

Kimmorley says he's still feeling stiffness in his neck and while keen to take on the Broncos will wait until as late as Friday morning before making a final decision on his availability. The match is Kimmorley's last opportunity to push his claims for the NSW halfback spot, with the Blues side for the State of Origin opener to be named next Tuesday.

The Sharks are also expected to have fullback Brett Kearney available after he was a late withdrawal from the game against the Warriors with a quad strain.
