Arvo wrap: Team changes

Billy Slater has reclaimed the fullback's position for the Melbourne Storm's clash against Canberra on Saturday, pushing leading tryscorer Jake Webster to the interchange bench.

Having served his third suspension of 2006, Slater has reclaimed the number one jersey. Stand-in fullback Greg Inglis moves to the centres to make way for Slater, leaving no room in the run-on side for Webster. Both Webster and Inglis have scored 15 tries for the Storm in 2006.

Brett White returns to the starting line-up for the match at Canberra Stadium, replacing Jeff Lima in the front row.

North Queensland coach Graham Murray says captain Travis Norton needs a "remarkable recovery" to play again in the NRL.

Norton is suffering from a shoulder injury and, with just two games left in the season, appears unlikely to play again before he retires at the end of the year. Paul Bowman and Johnathan Thurston are also unlikely to play again this season with the Cowboys set to miss the finals for the first time since 2003.

Murray has named Aaron Payne at halfback for this weekend's game against South Sydney with Brent McConnell demoted to Queensland Wizard Cup duties.

Australian and Queensland fullback Karmichael Hunt will make his return from injury for Brisbane on the wing this weekend against an in-form Parramatta. Coach Wayne Bennett has opted to retain Justin Hodges in the number one jumper with Hunt coming back from a foot injury on the wing.

Youngster Darius Boyd, who has played all 24 games this season, may be rested after being named on a five-man bench. Hodges says he enjoys playing fullback but will be happy to hand the job back to Hunt when the time comes.

The Bulldogs have suffered another injury blow with Tony Grimaldi forced to miss this Friday night's NRL clash with Manly due to a neck injury. Grimaldi has inflamed an old neck injury but club officials believe he will only miss the one match.

The injury could not come at a worse time for the Dogs who are trying to rebound from last week's shock loss to Brisbane where they lost Willie Tonga and Roy Asotasi with knee injuries and Willie Mason for two weeks due to suspension.

The Bulldogs have recalled Sonny Bill Williams, Adam Perry, Brad Morrin and Jarrad Hickey for the clash at Brookvale Oval.
