Australia to meet New Zealand in RLWC Final

The Australian Kangaroos have advanced through to the 2013 Rugby League World Cup Final as they rolled through Fiji Bati, 64-0 at Wembley Stadium. The crowd for the double header at Wembley was announced just shy of a record at 67,545.

There wasn't much hope given to Fiji leading into the match and rightly so with the talent of Australia a class above.

Australia took no time to jump to a lead as they posted 4 tries in 13 minutes. Jarryd Hayne was a stand out for the Kangaroos as he bagged a hat trick in the match with the Fijian right side defence continually tested.

Darius Boyd was confirmed as the second try scorer by the video referee as he raced in off a short pass from Greg Inglis. Australia capitalised on their opportunities as Fiji failed make use possession at the other end of the field. Australia led 10-0 after 15 minutes.

Australia claimed two quick back to back tries in two minutes as Cooper Cronk and Jarryd Hayne crossed for the Kangaroos. Hayne terrorised the Fiji defence with his speed and footwork to set up Cronk's four-pointer and followed it up with his own minutes later. Australia 22-0 leaders after 22 minutes.

Shortly before half time, Australia posted a further two tries as Josh Papalii crashed over under the posts with his first carry of the match. Hayne darted through the Fijian defence to add another four points to the Kangaroos tally. At the break, Australia led 34-0 over Fiji.

Australia continued it's dominating form in the second half as the points mounted against Fiji with a further five tries.

James Tamou put fear into the Fijian defenders as he charged over the pack to reach out over the white line to bring up the big four-O for Australia. The Kangaroos, 40-0 leaders after 53 minutes.

Darius Boyd flirted with the sideline minutes later as he bolted down the right side of Wembley. The ball went through four sets of hands as the Kangaroos troubled the defence once again. Australia commanded a 46-0 scoreline mid-way through the second half.

Parramatta Eels fullback, Jarryd Hayne crossed for his third four-pointer as his speed and footwork once again saw his name added to the scorers list. Australia cracked the half century 10 minutes before full time, 52-0.

Hayne couldn't stay out of the action as his speed created the opportunity for Brett Morris to dive over in the right corner. Video Referee Ben Thaler awarded the try after he reviewed Morris' trailing leg as he dived for the corner post.

The final points of the contest came as Cronulla Sharks second rower, Andrew Fifita trampled the Fijians as he galloped over to the try line. Australia eliminated the Fiji Bati, 64-0, the result sees the Kangaroos face the New Zealand Kiwis next weekend at Old Trafford in the 2013 Rugby League World Cup Final.

There is concern for Wests Tigers winger, Marika Koroibete who failed to return in the second half as he sustained a hamstring injury in the first half.
