Beau Falloon named NSW Cup Player of the Year

North Sydney Bears hooker Beau Falloon has tonight been named 2011 NSW Cup Player of the Year at the annual Life Member's night held at the NSW League's Club in Sydney.

Falloon (25 votes) edged out both David Harris (Western Suburbs Magpies, 23 votes) and Scott Briggs (Central Coast Centurions, 22 votes) to claim the honour in what was a hotly contested vote.

Briggs and Falloon both trailed Harris by a single vote entering Round 26 however the Centurions had the bye meaning that only Falloon could mathematically knock Harris off with the Magpies back-rower also missing in action due to injury.

Despite the Bears going down to Wentworthville at Ringrose Park 26-28, Falloon did enough to capture all three points and with it take out the NSW Cup Player of the Year title for the 2011 season.

NSWRL General Manager Mr. Geoff Carr said Falloon is a prime example of the calibre of player competing in the NSW Cup.
