Bell Cleared Of Serious Injury

Melbourne Storm has finally received some good news on the injury front after centre Steven Bell was cleared of any serious damage to the knee he injured at training last week.

Bell had an arthroscope last night that revealed a small tear to his meniscus cartilage but more importantly there was no damage to his right anterior cruciate ligament.

Storm doctor Greg Hickey believes Bell was extremely lucky not to suffer further damage and believes the 26-year-old could be back playing in as little as four weeks.

?He (Bell) was very lucky that the ACL was fine, there was a small tear to the cartilage in the knee but having dealt with that we expect him to be back in about four weeks time,? Hickey said.

Bell started the season in scintillating form picking up a second half hat trick against the Sharks in round one before going down with a knee injury in a training drill last Friday.
