Big game stays at Kogarah

St George Illawarra has knocked back a $200,000 windfall to retain home ground advantage for this Sunday's NRL blockbuster against Parramatta.

Dragons officials discussed moving the match from Oki Jubilee Stadium to Aussie Stadium, the Daily Telegraph newspaper reported. The move would have allowed an additional 18,000 fans to see the much-anticipated clash, but Dragons chief Peter Doust said his club decided against moving the game because of its commitment to the club's heartland and corporate sponsors.

The Dragons could have reportedly banked $350,000 to $400,000 by playing at Aussie Stadium but will only take about half that figure at Kogarah.
