Big Games for Taranaki Teams in
Round 8 of the Western Alliance Competition

Round 8 of the Western Alliance Competition continues this Saturday with three home games in the region and with some close encounters expected.

The big match being played in the region will be between the Coastal Cobras and Wainuiomata at Opunake Domain. Wainuiomata are second place on the Points Table having won 6 out of 7 games. Coastal are ranked ninth having won 4 out of 6 games with their game last weekend being cancelled due to flight disruption. The curtain raiser for this game is the Coastal Development Grade against the Ngati Ruanui Development Grade. The curtain raiser kicks off at 12.30 followed by the Western Alliance game at 2.00pm.

Ngati Ruanui will be looking for their first win of the Competition against Whiti Te Ra who are just above them on the points table. They will meet at Hicks Park, Hawera on Saturday with kick off at 2.00pm.

Western Suburbs are up against Castlecliff at Ngamotu Domain. The Development Grade Competition is also being played as a curtain raiser for this game with Western Suburbs against Waitara. The curtain raiser kicks off at 12.30 followed by the Western Alliance game at 2.00pm.

Another big match of the weekend involving a Taranaki team see the Marist Dragons playing away in Ohau against the top of the table Levin Lions. Marist will be looking to continue their winning streak and bring on Levin?s first loss of the season.

With the Levin Knights pulling out of the Western Alliance Competition the Waitara Bears have a bye this weekend.
