Exciting new Hull FC signing Nathan Blacklock believes the club have what it takes to lift the Super League crown as he prepares to get into the Christmas spirit.
Blacklock has immediately settled in to his festive surroundings after he and his girlfriend Jamie arrived in Hull this week.
The former Kangaroos Test star received the full welcome package from Hull after his 27-hour flight from Australia.
The club stocked up his fridge with food, sorted him out a car from sponsor Peter Stockill and even put up a Christmas tree in his new home, in Hessle.
Blacklock was delighted by his warm welcome and is keen to repay the club's faith by putting in some top-class performances.
The 28-year-old winger, who has sacrificed spending Christmas in his home country to join his new team-mates a fortnight early, said: "It was a fantastic welcome and we really appreciated what the club had done.
"Seeing a Christmas tree was great because one of the reasons I have come here is to have a proper Christmas - hopefully with snow.
"However, I haven't come over here to go home empty-handed. I firmly believe this club is capable of winning trophies next season and I hope that I can play my part in that."
The former St George Illawarra star, who also had a spell in rugby union with New South Wales Waratahs, had an injury-hit 2004 but now claims he is fit and raring to go.
He said: "I had a hamstring injury last season which meant my spell with St George ended on bad note but I'm now completely over that."
