Bowen remains loyal for three more
years

North Queensland pocket dynamo Matt Bowen has put pen to paper and signed on with the Cowboys for another three seasons. The three year deal was believed to be worth $400,000 per year and takes Bowen into the upper echelon of elite players who command big dollars on the open market.

Bowen, arguably one of the most exciting players in the game has given his club a massive boost by remaining loyal to the men from Townsville.

Rugby were interested in Bowen and there was also the opportunity to join the new Gold Coast franchise should they be included in the 2007 competition but Bowen, a North Queensland local has re-affirmed his commitment to the region as they sit atop the NRL ladder after eight rounds of the NRL.
