Brian Carney signs 3 year deal

Wigan's Irish international winger Brian Carney has today signed a new three year deal which will keep him with Wigan Warriors until the end of 2006,

Wigan Chairman Maurice Lindsay said,

"We are delighted Brian has committed his future to us as I know that he was being watched by the Irish Rugby Union. I am sure he would have made a big impact in Rugby Union but it is heartening that he has chosen to remain in League and Wigan in particular."

Brian Carney said,

" I absolutely love it at Wigan. I couldn't be happier and to sign a new three year deal is terrific. I want to get better each year and there is no better place to do it than with these lads here at Wigan. We have a great team spirit and I couldn't imagine playing anywhere else."

Coach Stuart Raper added,

"This is a great signing for the club as Brian has been a real star for us during this injury hit season. His never say die attitude has rubbed off on the other players and he is typical of the Wigan clubs spirit and determination."
