Bronco injures knee at training

Powerhouse lock Tonie Carroll is out indefinitely after a training collision with centre Brent Tate, according to the Brisbane Broncos Official Site. Carroll twisted his knee resulting in a grade-two medial ligament tear and looks set to miss Brisbane's World Sevens campaign on the Australia Day Weekend.

"Tatey didn't miss me," Carroll said refering to the contact with his teammate. "It was wet at the time and I slipped and did the knee."

Carroll is hopeful of figuring in at least one of the Broncos two trial matches, vs Melbourne Feb 21 in Toowoomba or vs Sydney at the Redcliffe Dolphins home ground Feb 28.

After Carroll's solid 2003 campaign, the Broncos would be expecting a bigger impact from their lock/centre as the side looks to rebound from their worst season since 1999.
