Broncos dismantle Manly
at Suncorp

Round 10
Brisbane Broncos 32 v Manly Sea Eagles 10
at Suncorp Stadium
Referees: Jason Robinson

Match Summary:

The Brisbane Broncos have defeated the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 32-10 at Suncorp Stadium this evening.

With the dreaded Origin period looming, both sides need the two points to stay in touch with the leaders but the Broncos traditionally struggle post Origin, so they need to horde all the points they can get in the leadup to Origin as they usually supply half a dozen players to the Queensland side and to stay within the top four, a win would be vital for their premiership hopes in 2006.

Tonight, Manly were first out of the blocks with a try to the forgotten man of the NRL in Anthony Watmough.

That was as good as it got for Manly with the Broncos taking control and never looked threatened from then on. The Broncos raced away to a match winning lead early in the second half and Manly just didn?t have it in them to run the powerful Broncos side down.

The Broncos are now entrenched in the top four while Manly sit in the back half of the top eight and with four games to be played tomorrow, if results go against Manly they could find themselves outside the top eight.
