Broncos Make
It 4 Straight

The London Broncos made it four victories on the trot in the Engage Super League with a 24 - 10 win at the Halton Stadium over League strugglers Widnes Vikings.

A reasonable crowd of 5,996 saw Luke Dorn open the scoring in the 13th minute, beating four would-be tacklers on the way to the corner, picking up his 14th try for the season. Seven minutes later, loose forward Rob Purdan crossed for an easy try and the Paul Sykes conversion made it 10 nil to the visitors. Widnes had their chances but the London defence was too strong for the attacking options of the Vikings.

Mark McLinden was the next Bronco to cross the try line in the 35th minute, with some hot foot work from the scrum base.

Again, Widnes let in another quick try, this time to New Zealand test half Tomas Leuluai off a Mark Tookey pass. Paul Sykes converted the Broncos 4th try giving the visitors a 22 nil lead at the break. The second half was not so brilliant from both sides, with continuous dropped balls and London's Tyrone Smith being put on report for a high shot on Widnes player,Tim Holms.

Paul Sykes got the broncos only points in the 2nd half with a penalty in the 61st minute. Widnes eventually beat the bronco's defence for two late tries from former UK test star Gary Connolly and Owen Craigie.

The London Broncos are now in outright sixth place in the Engage Super League and next week they face also inform St.Helens at Knowsley Road. For Widnes, they will face an up and down Bradford Bulls side. The Vikings must fancy their chances after beating the Bulls at home earlier this year.
