Broncos name team to face the
Dragons

The Broncos today received a vital boost ahead of this Sunday?s blockbuster against high-flying St.George-Illawarra with a trio of their Test stars set to do battle despite sitting under injury clouds.

Current Australian forwards Petero Civoniceva and Tonie Carroll and former Kangaroos centre Brent Tate have all been included in an extended 19-man squad for the round-23 fixture at Suncorp Stadium.

Civoniceva, who missed Sunday?s 21-20 loss to Manly in order to recover from a nagging round-20 shoulder injury, has been named in the front-row alongside Shane Webcke.

Tate is confident he will take his place on the wing despite being assisted off Brookvale Oval after landing awkwardly on his suspect right ankle.

While lock Carroll expects to beat the niggling shoulder problem he obtained on Sunday leaving winger Scott Minto (knee) and hooker Barry Berrigan as the only unavailable from the top squad.

Civoniceva?s return means Dane Carlaw shifts back to bench and playmaker Berrick Barnes drops out of the 17.

Barnes joins utility forward Sam Thaiday as one of two additions to the four-man interchange which includes forwards Corey Parker and Neville Costigan and utility Darren Smith.

The Broncos are on track for their maiden 50,000-plus crowd at Suncorp Stadium with more than 33, 000 tickets sold by noon yesterday.
