Broncos Raring for Third in a Row

London will line up on Sunday at Griffin Park for the third successive game in as many weeks when they face Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the fifth round of the Powergen Challenge Cup.

Since the opening day defeat at Leeds, the Broncos have played two home games at Griffin Park. Last Saturday saw Tony Rea's men beaten by St Helens (12-26), although they were victorious against Salford two weeks ago, to set up this sudden death clash.

Rea was pleased with many aspects of last Saturday's game, in particular the fighting spirit that his men showed: "I thought they showed a lot of character and they all put in. I cannot question their character or enthusiasm."

Over the past couple of weeks our new players have seen what a home game really means to our fans, and I thought they (the supporters) were equally impressive last week."

I can't fault our week in training and I expect our team to react to last week's loss in an effective manner."

The Cup is special to all of us at the Broncos. We've been very close to getting our hands on it once before, and our desire as a club to move one step closer to Cardiff goes without saying."

Rea will make no changes to the team.

Former Wildcat Jon Wells expects a difficult tussle on Sunday: "We know it won't be easy, they are a talented team with quite a few strengths. On paper they look stronger than the team I played in last season, but that's not really the issue."

What's most important is that we do what we have prepared to do, and the rest should take care of itself."

Another former Wildcat is Francis Stephenson who played 125 games for the Belle Vue club. Like Wells, he agrees the team has strengthened in the off-season: "To be honest I think most clubs have. Physically, I know we have. Our condition is good and we are feeling the benefits of a very intense pre-season."

As a team I know we have strengthened. We may have lost one or two 'bigger name' players, but the group itself here at London seems to be working really well together."

Team as follows:

Paul Sykes, Jon Wells, Rob Jackson, Mark O'Halloran, Nigel Roy, Radney Bowker, Dennis Moran, Steve Trindall, Neil Budworth, Steele Retchless, Andrew Hart, Joe Mbu, Jim Dymock ?

Substitutes: Andrew Brocklehurst, Mitch Stringer, Francis Stephenson, Lee Sanderson
