Broncos re-sign 3 players

The Brisbane Broncos have today agreed to terms with three members of their NRL squad, leaving just two current first graders unsigned.

Broncos managing director Bruno Cullen announced today that Tonie Carroll (three years), Sam Thaiday (three years) and Neville Costigan (two years) have agreed to continue their careers with the Broncos.

Yesterday the Broncos announced that State of Origin utility Casey McGuire had also re-signed for two years, and earlier in the month Corey Parker was signed for three more seasons.

Negotiations are continuing with Test centre Shaun Berrigan and young forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs. As well, Mr Cullen is holding discussions with halfback Brett Seymour, who holds a Season 2006 option on his current contract.

?As I have said all along during this negotiating period, we are comfortable with our situation and are hopeful of retaining all those players we want to keep at the Broncos,? Mr Cullen said.

?Obviously there will be some disappointments - as has been the case with the loss of Berrick Barnes to the Queensland Reds - but this business is never all plain sailing.?

Mr Cullen described the signings this week as ?as a mixed bag?.

?We have secured the seasoned pro in Tonie Carroll, the new rep player in Casey McGuire and two up and comers in Sam Thaiday and Neville Costigan,? he said.
