BRONCOS SEND THANKS TO LEICESTER AND RUGBY LEAGUE

London Broncos may have lost the match to Hull FC on the road but the Matt King Appeal recorded another success.

At the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the Matt King Appeal raised close to ?20,000, and many more initiatives are planned over the next few months.

The Broncos road game at Welford Road, which had a crowd of just five percent of that in Cardiff, raised ?1250 through a bucket collection.

Broncos Player Performance Manager, Phil Jones commented: "Once again rugby league supporters can be most proud of their generosity. On behalf of Matt, I thank all who contributed on Sunday."

This Sunday the Broncos and Huddersfield Giants will join forces to raise funds at a pre-match dinner at the George Hotel. The dinner and auction is in aid of seriously injured players Matt King and Danny Scott.

The event, which has been arranged in conjunction with 1895 International, will aim to boost the trust funds that have been established on each of the young players' behalf.

Broncos Development Manager Phil Jones, who is co-ordinating the Broncos efforts, is equally enthusiastic about the way the two clubs had come together. He said: "I think it's very significant that the two clubs are working together on this event, and I think it's a great reflection on our sport the way in which everyone pulls together in times of hardship."
