Bulldogs shock: Malcolm Noad is new
CEO

The Bulldogs have taken steps towards getting themselves under control by appointing Malcolm Noad as their new Chief Executive Officer.

The club will announce Noad?s appointment at 2:30pm this afternoon.

Noad replaces Steve Mortimer, who resigned last month under intense pressure following sexual assault allegations against a number of Bulldogs players.

The Bulldogs advertised the CEO position last week but immediately suspended applications following Noad?s shock interest in the position.

Noad, a former Managing Director of News Limited, holds a senior position at News Magazines, and is currently Chairman of the National Rugby League, a position he is expected to resign from immediately.

Noad has a tough road ahead of him ? the sexual assault allegations against players are to reach new heights today when the Director of Public Prosecutions is briefed by detectives, and the club remains embroiled in controversy over their failure to confirm or deny if a player had tested positive to a recreational drug. In addition, the club is having continued problems with a minority of fans that could ultimately cost them competition points.

We?ll have further details of Noad?s appointment available following a press conference this afternoon.
