Bulldogs skipper linked with Warriors

Bulldogs captain Steve Price could make a dramatic switch to the New Zealand Warriors next year after rumours that the struggling club are set to offer him a major financial deal for the 2005 season.

Price has played all of his first class football with the Bulldogs and has made his wishes of being a one-club man public on more than one occasion.

But according to sources, the Warriors deal is certainly worth thinking about and is more than what the Bulldogs could possibly afford to pay him.

The Bulldogs are also unlikely to re-sign goal kicking winger Hazem El Masri before the June 30 anti-tampering deadline and he has already been linked with Parramatta and South Sydney.

It?s understood the Bulldogs? offer to El Masri is considerably less than what he was expecting.

The Warriors are expected to table an offer to Price this week and while close friends say he would be unlikely to leave the Bulldogs, the deal could well be too good to refuse.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will be without halfback Brent Sherwin for this afternoon?s clash with North Queensland at Dairy Farmers Stadium. He has been troubled by a sternum injury and will be replaced by Brett Oliver.
