Bulls clean sweep of BBC Awards

It was a Bradford landslide at the BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Sports Awards 2003 hosted by Look North?s Harry Gration and Christa Ackroyd.

Tetley?s Super League Champions, Minor Premiers and Powergen Challenge Cup Holders Bradford Bulls were celebrating after winning four trophies at the prestigious event which was filmed for a special half hour television programme which will be transmitted Monday, December 1st at 10.30pm on BBC TWO.

Jamie Peacock was voted BBC Yorkshire Sports Personality of the Year. The Super League's Man of Steel for 2003 Jamie Peacock has had a spectacular year. The Bradford Bulls forward was voted players' player of the year and the Rugby League writers' player of the year. The Bulls won the treble as well.

Brian Noble was voted Manager/Coach 2003 - The Super League's coach of the year Brian Noble guided the Bradford Bulls into the history books.

They became the first team in the modern era to do the Challenge Cup Grand Final double.

Bradford Bulls were voted Team 2003 - The Bradford Bulls won every trophy they could. They started the year with the Challenge Cup, then picked up the New League Leaders Shield and rounded it off with the Grand Final victory.

BBC Radio Leeds Sports Personality 2003 was James Lowes who brought down the curtain on an illustrious career by helping the Bradford Bulls to the treble. He's been one of the great hookers of the modern game, and will be a tough man to replace as the Bulls look to defend all those trophies.

The awards, now in their fifth year, were set up by the BBC to recognise sporting achievement and excellence. Viewers and listeners in the region were asked by the BBC to nominate their favourite sportspeople.
