Bulls Eye

In this week's edition of Bulls Eye, Brian Noble and Iestyn Harris look ahead to Monday's Round 25 Tetley's Super League game when the Bulls travel to the KC Stadium to take on HullFC still smarting from their big defeat at Headibgly. BRIAN NOBLE

YOU WILL NEED TO GET BACK ON TRACK THIS WEEK.

We need to play well, first and foremost and if we do that then the result will take care of itself. We need to play smart and we need to realise that Hull have a very good goaline defence and therefore we need to be patient. That is what we didn?t do the last time we played them and, as a result, we dropped too much ball to mount any serious challenge.

Hull will be disappointed with their result at Castleford and will be tougher opponents because of it. We need to mount a sturdy defence and not allow them to get their ball players in space. The half backs, Horne and Cooke have been doing the business for them and their pack, with Paul King outstanding at the moment, are taking them forward. They have great pace with Yeaman and Best out wide and Briscoe, who is a tremendous support player, chiming into the line and we need to stop their offloads and not allow those players to dominate the game. But it is defensively where they are the strongest and we need to make sure we put pressure on them and mount a strong challenge.

I was disappointed with our first half display at Headingley last week but we have discussed what went wrong during the week and have put that behind us. We know we can play well under pressure, we did that against Wigan and we need to reach that standard again if we are to get the two points we need,

We have another option this week with Joe Vagana coming back into the squad and at this stage of the season we want as many fit bodies as we can get.

IESTYN HARRIS

IT?S ANOTHER BIG GAME FOR THE BULLS ON MONDAY

It is and we are looking forward to it, it?s a really good atmosphere there but it?d be nice to get one back on Hull as they turned us over not so long back there. We?ll be looking to put last week?s defeat at Leeds behind us, move forward and pick up the two points.

YOU PLAYED AT THE KC STADIUM A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO: HOW DID IT COMPARE WITH THE BOULEVARD

?It?s completely different. At the Boulevard you?d always get a hot reception and the atmosphere would be electric. But with the new Stadium it?s little bit different. It?s not as close but the atmosphere is still very good. They haven?t lost it completely because there is still a similar feeling and they?ve done a great job.?

HULL HAVE HAD A GOOD SEASON; WHO DO YOU THINK HAVE BEEN THE SUCCESSES FOR THEM?

It?s difficult to say but Paul King, Richard Horne and Paul Cooke seem to have stood out. They?ve all performed well though as a team and I?m sure they?ll have a few in contention for the Gt. Britain squad when it?s announced at the end of the season. That thought is something that hasn?t come into my mind though. First and foremost I want to play well with the Bulls and gradually improve my game. You never want to look too far in the distance?

LAST WEEK?S DEFEAT AT HEADINGLEY MUST HAVE COME AS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT TO YOU

Nobody enjoys going back to their old Club and getting beaten, especially as we took a bit of a convincing beating. But I?ve got it out of the way now and done it so now we can all concentrate on the remainder of the year. My return to league has gone pretty well so far, Headingley apart but it takes time as any player will tell you moving to a new Club getting used to calls and learning exactly how the side plays but hopefully we?ll be there or thereabouts when the Play Offs come about. We?re gradually improving and we?re working towards that. The Club?s record stands us in good stead so hopefully it?ll be the same again this time round. It?s very inspirationally for me. As a newcomer to really to see how they all work for each other and if we all perform like we are capable of there will be nothing to worry about.?
