Bulls release new away shirt

The UK?s most successful Rugby Club, World Champions, Bradford Bulls, have today announced the launch of their new ?away? strip for the 2005 season.

The strip breaks with the traditional Red, Black and Amber colours and has been designed in Green and Amber to honour the Bulls commitment to Ireland?s leading Children?s Charity, the Jack and Jill Foundation. The shirt will feature the Jack & Jill logo on the sleeve and the Club will make a donation to the Foundation for every shirt sold. For the first time the Bulls shirt will also be launched in Ireland and will be followed by work in the community by the Bulls Development Team in January.

The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation is based in Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland. It is a registered charity set up to help young children who are born with or who develop brain damage and who, as a result, suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay. The Foundation was formed by Jonathan Irwin whose own son, Jack, suffered trauma within days of being born which left him brain damaged, blind and deaf. Jonathan soon found that the State had no resources to hand therefore did not care for infants in that condition who had a limited life expectancy. Jack was 22 months old when he died and Jonathan was determined to do what he could to help children and their families who suffered a similar fate.

The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation now provides early intervention home respite to families with babies suffering severe developmental delay who require intensive medical and nursing care.

Bulls Chairman, Chris Caisley, said

"Whilst this is one of many worthwhile charities the Bulls have been involved with over the years there is not a single person who could not be impressed with the tremendous work which the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation do in providing care and assistance. The Foundation helps children who simply cannot communicate for themselves, who may never be able to walk or talk. We are very pleased to be associated with such a worthwhile organisation and to help in whatever way we can."

Jonathan Irwin, founder of the Jack and Jill Foundation is delighted to link up with the Bradford Bulls:

"Our families, my Trustees and myself are very flattered to have been adopted by the Bradford Bulls. It is a singular honour for an Irish Charity that brings respite to little children, who sadly will never aspire to reach the athletic prowess of the Bradford Bulls Players. We are very proud to be named on the away strip and to be associated with such a professional and community minded organisation."

The shirt is available online at www.bradfordbulls.co.uk, by calling 08701 202040 (Option 2) and is available from the Bull Ring Store at Odsal Stadium on Sunday 5th December from 10am.
