Burleigh Bears qualify for
Queensland Cup grand final

The Burleigh Bears have qualified for the Queensland Cup grand final after staging a second half comeback to defeat Easts Tigers 17-16 on the Gold Coast today.

With rain pouring down, Easts dominated the ruck to lead 16-4 after running in three tries to one.

But with forward Adam Cook leading the way, the minor premiers came back, scoring twice. Following repeat sets at the Easts line, the Bears scored the equaliser and with 10 minutes to go, the scores were locked up at 16-all.

Kris Flint then slotted a field goal giving Burleigh the lead and the opportunity to tackle their way to victory.

The result sees the Bears straight into the Queensland Cup grand final. Easts now have to battle it out in next weekend's preliminary final.
