Busy Week for Judiciary

Canberra second rower Tyran Smith could face a five-week enforced holiday after being charged with knee-dropping by the National Rugby League judiciary.

The New Zealand forward was placed on report by referee Tim Mander in the second half of Saturday night's game against North Queensland at Dairy Farmer's Stadium following a tackle on Cowboys centre Josh Hannay.

He has been charged with a grade three offence and will be outed for five weeks if he contests the charge and loses at the judiciary.

Smith can enter an early guilty plea, but would be suspended for four weeks.

The Wests Tigers' woes have continued, with captain Darren Senter and forward Trent Runciman charged with careless high tackles following their loss to Brisbane on Saturday.

Both were charged with grade two offences, with Senter facing two weeks on the sideline and Runciman three.

Northern Eagles winger Mitch Creary could face a one week suspension after he was charged with a grade one dangerous throw after his side's 46-24 loss to Cronulla on Sunday at Brookvale Oval.

While Souths prop Scott Geddes and Sydney Roosters winger Anthony Minichiello could both escape suspension despite being charged with grade one careless high tackles.

Both will not accrue enough penalty points to be suspended if found guilty of the charge.
