With the Carnegie World Club Challenge less than two weeks away, over 28,000 tickets have now been sold for the clash between Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos and NRL Premiers Canterbury Bulldogs.
Since the contest was re-introduced in 2000, such high levels of demand for advance sales have never been experienced before.
Commenting on the situation, the Rugby Football League?s Community Marketing Manager Adam Jude said: ?The demand for Carnegie World Club Challenge tickets among supporters has been massive since they went on sale prior to Christmas.
?That demand has continued to grow and the fortnight prior to the match is usually the time when the greatest number of tickets are sold, so we anticipate even greater levels of sales in the coming days.
?Canterbury Bulldogs arrive in the UK next weekend and the pre-match anticipation will increase even further, so the message for all fans has got to be, don?t miss out....book now".
Tickets for the Carnegie World Club Challenge can be obtained 24 hours a day by logging on to superleague.co.uk or calling (0870) 990 13 13.
For supporters who live in the Leeds area, the Headingley Stadium ticket office has special opening hours over the next two weeks to enable fans to purchase tickets.
The ticket office will be open 9am until 5pm on Monday 24th January. However, the ticket office will be open until 10pm on Tuesday after the Rhinos v London Broncos game.
The ticket office will then also be open until 7pm on Thursday 27th January and until 10pm on Friday 28th January.
From Monday 31st January until Wednesday 2nd February the ticket office will be open from 9am until 7pm and the final day of sale of tickets from Headingley is Thursday 3rd February when all unsold tickets will be returned to the RFL at 2pm.
