Chan out for two matches

Melbourne Storm prop Alex Chan has taken an early guilty plea to a grade three careless high tackle charge today, ruling him out of Sunday?s clash with the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland.

The charge was levelled at Chan yesterday following his tackle on Cowboys forward Michael Luck during the second half of the Storm?s 22-point win over North Queensland last Saturday.

Following today?s guilty plea, Chan will miss the Warriors? match as well as the Storm?s Round 9 clash with the Sharks at Olympic Park.

It is the second time this season Chan has been suspended for two matches due to a high tackle offence - last week was his second match back after a high shot on Dragons hooker Ryan Powell in Round 2.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy won?t decide on Chan?s replacement until later this week, with former Test prop Rodney Howe and Antonio Kaufusi both vying for the position.
