Confusion reigns supreme over
Sonny

The Sydney Morning Herald has reported this morning that rugby league's hottest property, Sonny Bill Williams, has resigned with the Bulldogs for two years at an estimated $800,000. But just as quickly as it was reported, his manager Gavin Orr entered the situation by stating that they were meeting the Canterbury officials late today in order to finalise the deal.

All this comes amid a turbulent portion of the sensational back-rowers career, in which he has sustained an ankle injury forcing him to the sidelines for eight weeks. On top of this comes the news that he has contracted the mumps after blood tests revealed he and team mate Willie Tonga were infected with the virus after catching it from team-mate Reni Maitua and football manager Brad Clyde.

Despite the confusion, the signs look very positive for Bulldogs fans as the club goes all out to retain their latest gun player. Once this deal is finalised, they will turn their attention to Braith Anasta and Willie Mason, who have both indicated they may try their value on the open market with Souths interested in Anasta and the Sharks signalling their intentions to replace outgoing prop Jason Stevens with Mason.
