Cowboys chief quits and injury
news

North Queensland chief executive Denis Keeffe has announced his resignation from the NRL club. Keeffe will continue in the role until the end of the season before handing over the reigns.

Meanwhile centre Paul Bowman is expected to recover from a groin strain in time for Sunday's blockbuster N-R-L clash against the Wests Tigers.

But doubt continues to hover over the head of fellow centre Josh Hannay who is struggling with a nerve-related neck injury.

Both players were yesterday named in the Cowboys side to take on the Tigers along with Matt Bowen who suffered a corked hip last weekend.

North Queensland desperately needs a win over the in-form Tigers to keep their hopes of a top-four finish, as well as a home final, alive.
