COWBOYS TO HOST INDIGENOUS YOUTH SUMMIT

THE Townsville leg of the Learn Earn Legend! Indigenous Youth Summits, hosted by the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, will be held on Wednesday.

The two-day summit will focus on inspiring students to embrace educational and employment opportunities while still maintaining their identity and culture.

It will include a series of presentations from current rugby league players and local Indigenous people talking about their careers and ways to succeed in life.

Mayor Les Tyrell will open the Townsville summit at St Patricks College on the Strand at 8.30am on Wednesday morning while Cowboys players Willie Tonga and Shannon Gallant will take part in a meet and greet from 6pm.

It is one of five summits to take place in Queensland with others to be held in Brisbane, Rockhampton, Cairns and the Gold Coast with involvement from the Cowboys, Gold Coast Titans and Brisbane Broncos.
